The following script is from the speech that Tom made in tribute of Sam at this week’s “Students in the Community” assembly. It beautifully sums up the impact Sam has had on our club this year.
Sam,
In my opinion Sam is a leader, sportsman and a good chap. He is so supportive in the MAC TRI CLUB not just to the athletes but to Mr Waugh (or Chris as we call him) as well. He is responsible, passionate and committed and it shows as I have never been to a session when he hasn’t turned up.
His efforts for the MAC TRI CLUB this year have been amazing! His students in the community is more than just marshalling a race. The amount of time and effort that becomes a requirement with this is a lot more than you may think…
Sam is humble but not shy and you’ll always see him at the front having a chat with Chris, whoever requires advice or whoever wants a good yarn.
Thanks for the amazing opportunity you’ve sprouted for us at the MAC TRI CLUB! Where would we be without you ‘Coups’?
