There have been so many events and so much success, personal, regional, and national, that I am unable to enumerate it here – but I want to reinforce how immensely proud I am of our club and everyone in it. Every event I have seen has been characterised by outstanding personal conduct and the highest level of sporting integrity. You look like you’re having fun and your support of each other means everything.
On the back of all of your outstanding individual and team performances, we were awarded the trophy for best co-ed school in New Zealand at the Triathlon Nationals this year – and that one will stand proud in the school trophy cabinet.
We’re going from strength to strength as a club and I’m sure I speak for all our supporters and coaches when I say I continue to enjoy every minute I spend with you.
A special thanks to the Green family for organising the spectacularly successful firewood raffle. Muireann says the donation is intended primarily for the purchase of team uniform, so we’ll discuss that in more detail soon. If anyone is free on Sunday 15 March – I’d really appreciate a hand stacking the wood at its new owner’s place – Ms Parker-Webb. The video of the draw is attached to the bottom of this post.

MONDAY 09 MARCH – Open Water Swim
6:00 pm Sealed Carpark in Roy’s Bay
Swim for pace with a bit of distance thrown in.

TUESDAY 10 MARCH – Our Inaugural Girls’ Ride
3:30 pm Outside Room 23
The female quotient in our club is building beautifully. So much so, that we really want to provide a positive starting point for a number of the girls who are keen to join us, but feel intimidated by the idea of the Friday rides. Piper will run the ride – and I’ll be there for supervision.
This is the Hangout Link for the girls’ division
THURSDAY 12 March – Club Run Training
3:30pm Outside Room 23
The first urban jumping around session for the year. Great for strength, agility, core and power! And for your knowledge of Shakespseare.
FRIDAY 13 March – Club Ride
3:30 pm Outside Room 23
Let’s see where the wind takes us
If inclement weather exceeds our safety thresholds for any of our training events, I will endeavour to notify everyone 3 hours before the start time – but this can occur closer to the time if the weather change is sudden!
