Some great performances in a range of events were seen in the past week - and the crew made light work of stacking the firewood for our raffle winner. We're having another go at our girls' ride on Tuesday - who's in?

Go Segment Hunting

If you’re a GPS user, we have developed specific Strava Segments for our training locations which are all collected on our site. Check them out to see where you stand on the league tables!

Our training and event calendar can be found at: http://trisport.mtaspiring.edutronic.net/training-calendar/ – and you can merge it with your own device if you like

This week has again featured an abundance of events and activities for members of the club. There was a big contingent in the Adventure Race on Saturday – and others had great fun at Highlands Raceway with the Wakatipu Cycling Club. The Motatapu race was also a site for some strong performances with Laurie winning his age group in the Off Road Triathlon and being offered a place representing New Zealand in the world’s this year – and some very fast rides by those from the team who completed the MTB event.

Thanks also to Muireann, Eamon, James, Sam and Jack who all stacked the firewood for the winner of our club raffle (Nikki Parker-Webb) – and again, thanks to the Green family for organising it. MacKay has received a very nice cycling skin suit that he sourced online at a very reasonable price – so we certainly have some options when it comes to purchasing new kit!

MONDAY 16 MARCH – Open Water Swim

6:00 pm Sealed Carpark in Roy’s Bay

The Snake Race

Wetsuits are compulsory for our open-water swim sessions. If you’re new to the club, please speak in advance to Chris about your level of experience in the open water.

TUESDAY 17 MARCH – Our Inaugural Girls’ Ride

3:30 pm Outside Room 23

The female quotient in our club is building beautifully. So much so, that we really want to provide a positive starting point for a number of the girls who are keen to join us, but feel intimidated by the idea of the Friday rides. Piper will run the ride – and I’ll be there for supervision.

This is the Hangout Link for the girls’ division

THURSDAY 19 March – Club Run Training

3:30pm Outside Room 23

The first urban jumping around session for the year. Great for strength, agility, core and power! And for your knowledge of Shakespseare.

FRIDAY 20 March – Club Ride

3:30 pm Outside Room 23

Mt Iron Tour warmup followed by Time Trials on the Riverbank Road course.

If inclement weather exceeds our safety thresholds for any of our training events, I will endeavour to notify everyone 3 hours before the start time – but this can occur closer to the time if the weather change is sudden!

Our club is all about participation, and alongside the excellent commitment of the student athletes, we welcome family members and members of the community to join us in all of our training sessions. They’re designed to accommodate all levels and abilities and are a lot of fun. If you have it in mind that you’d like to join any of our regular sessions, simply let me know and we’ll make sure you have all the information you need.

Righto!
