Hi all,

After such an excellent 2018 with the start of our club, this year we have some real opportunities to ‘put it all together’. The first event on our plan this year is the TriFACTOR Triathlon – held next Saturday here in Wanaka.

In the TriFACTOR there are race options suitable to absolutely everyone, and this event also has a relaxed ‘local’ feel to it – so is a good option for people new to Triathlon.

If you or any of your friends are interested in participating in this event, please contact us to let us know. If there’s enough interest, we will be happy to run the following prep sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings next week:

MONDAY: 8:00am – Swim Lane, Roy’s Bay.
Gear checklist and open water swimming skills. Stripping the wetsuit.

WEDNESDAY: 9:00am – Mt Aspiring College – T1 – swim to bike.
Bike handling around transitions e.g. pre-race bike checking and set up, racking the bike, getting through transition with the bike + a group ride add-on.

FRIDAY: 7:00am – Eely Point – T2 – bike to run
T2 – bike to run + Mini-Triathlon for fun.

After the TriFACTOR event, we’ll start our summer group training programme, which, as always, is open to all.

Righto!

Chris and Merryn.

Our club is all about participation, and alongside the excellent commitment of the student athletes, we welcome family members and members of the community to join us in all of our training sessions. They’re designed to accommodate all levels and abilities and are a lot of fun. If you have it in mind that you’d like to join any of our regular sessions, simply let me know and we’ll make sure you have all the information you need.

Righto!
